Launcher App has been around for a while. It gives you the power to add shortcuts of your most common activities to the Notification Center. The shortcuts could lead to apps or actions that you use more often during the day. You could choose to hotlink to your favorite phone number, website or even app straight form the Notification Center.
Launcher App is Now Better
The Launcher App now lets you add multiple widgets hence you can link to more applications at ago. Moreover, you can now group all your apps into similar sections hence making it easy to control your actions or search for a specific shortcut at the Notification Center.
A good example of such segmentation would be in creating a group for contact shortcuts and another for app shortcuts, or a section for apps you use while at home and when at work. This will reduce the time you spend searching through your new shortcuts to identify that one app or action you are looking for.
Since you can configure the widgets to appear on your Notification Center depending on the time, location or day, Launcher App makes automation a better reality. You will not see the home-related shortcuts while at work. You won’t see your office related shortcuts in the weekend – unless you work on weekends.
The new version will also give you iCloud backups and you can choose between round and square icons with room for more custom icons when you please.
Since Launcher App is available on the App Store, it is a great tweak to anyone, regardless of whether you have or don’t have a jailbreak. The basic version is free. You will, however, have to pay $2.99 for the pro version that gives you extra privileges like adding more than 5 widgets and extra organizational and look features.
